9 Vancouver, WA Portrait Locations You’ll Love
I’ve lived here for over 30 years and know all the best spots! From waterfalls and fields to urban landscapes and charming gardens, Vancouver offers a diverse playground for everyone. Let me take you on a journey to discover some of the best outdoor photography locations Vancouver has to offer.
For the Urban Look:
Esther Short Park: Manicured gardens, benches, and large trees, perfect for creative angles and a good starting point.
Fort Vancouver National Historic Site: Step back in time with restored historical buildings and lush grounds, red bricks, quiet areas with over 200 acres to explore, offering a unique blend of history and architecture!
The Waterfront: Capture the bustling energy of the Columbia River, with barges, bridges, seasonal landscaping, modern architecture, and murals providing a dynamic backdrop.
Downtown Vancouver (my home): I will help you find hidden alleyways with street art, historic buildings and hidden areas perfect for capturing the city feel.
For the Nature Lover:
Vancouver Lake Regional Park: Enjoy green grass in open fields, tree lined sidewalks, and a peaceful boardwalk along the lake, ideal for family portraits and candid moments.
Wildlife Botanical Garden in Brush Prairie. This hidden gem boasts a variety of plants and flowers, providing a picturesque backdrop for capturing the beauty of the natural world. With its serene atmosphere and diverse flora this is a favorite.
Lacamas Lake: The lake here is framed by towering trees, and open shade. Great for a wooded/foresty feel.
Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge: Lots of wetlands and meadows, worth checking out just for all the wildlife!
Frenchman's Bar Park: Forested trails leading to hidden beaches on the Columbia River, offering panoramic views and contrast.
Don't forget to consider the time of day and weather conditions for optimal lighting and atmosphere.
